Common questions
Can I join an adult soccer league in San Francisco Bay Area without a team?
Yes. Most social leagues let you sign up as an individual or a small group and place you on a team. Look for "free agent" or "individual" registration on each league’s site.
What’s the difference between coed, men’s and open leagues?
Coed leagues require a minimum number of women on the field. Men’s and women’s leagues are for those players only. Open leagues have no gender requirements.
Are there leagues for beginners?
Yes. Social leagues split divisions by skill, and several run beginner or "new to soccer" levels. Competitive leagues and club teams suit former college and experienced players.
When do adult soccer seasons start?
Most leagues run several seasons a year, with indoor leagues through the winter and outdoor leagues in spring, summer and fall. Each league’s site lists its next start dates.
